Each coil goes on top of a cylinder on one side of the motor. Then, a spark plug wire goes from each ignition coil to a cylinder on the other side of the motor. Essentially, each coil is connected to two separate spark plugs (cylinders). Remember to take note of where each wire goes to not mess up firing order! Hope this helps.

on some years they used a no waste spark ignition system. basically 3 coils on the left bank, (right side of engine if looking from the front) that had spark plug wires running across to the other spark plugs.
