Brought to 1AAuto.com. Your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. Hi, I am Mike Green. I am one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing and maintaining your vehicle. I am going to use my 20-plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1A Auto. The right parts installed correctly, that is going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video we are going to show you how to replace the headlight on this Ford F-250. The first couple minutes we'll just deal with if you're just replacing the bulb. Then after that we go into how to change the whole headlight assembly. The headlights on these trucks get faded, cloudy, and yellow quite a bit. So they're a pretty popular reinstallation item. The only tools you'll need a bent-tipped awl and a Phillips screwdriver.
Okay. To change your light bulb, you want to come in behind and you can see the back of the light bulb with that ring around it. Reach in, turn that ring counterclockwise. Okay here you can see close-up better angle, this is what you are reaching for. You turn this counter clockwise, pull it off. Then you kind of have to use it to kind of shake your headlight up and down and then bring it out.
Right up here pull the collar back. Just use a screwdriver, kind of force that off. There is your bulb disconnected. Reconnect, just put the bulb in, push the harness together, Then pull that back to just make sure that is connected correctly. When putting the bulb back in you want to look right here you can see there is kind of a slot right on top of the housing. That lines up with the slot on the bulb and push together and lock your ring on.
Okay. To remove all these headlights you're first going to have to pull two tabs up. One here and one here. Okay, so here is the back of the headlight. So the clips go right down on here. So you can see that they hold on a couple different ways. You can see that these arms curl in to lock into these slots. So that's why you put this down in there, lock this in. Then pull on it up to try to get those right out of those slots. Okay, and it's also shaped, it has a little. It's got almost a little ridge right here. That's why you have to kind of pry back and then up and out to get these off.
So now I am going to go back to these clips here. Take my bent tipped awl and put it in, pull out, and up. Then go down to the other side pull out, then twist out, and up. Okay. Now notice I have a glove on. What I am going to do is hook my awl into that slot at top. I'm going to pry this way which forces the clip out away from the truck, and I am going to put my glove on top of the clip as well just to kind of hold it in place. So that when I pull it out it stays on my awl. Do the same thing for this side. Use a flashlight. Pull up on one side. Hook it into the other side. Pull up on that side, put my awl down in there, get your fingernail down in there. Push out and pull up, and there is my other clip out.
Okay the next part of this is a bit difficult to film, but right down in here is the headlight. Down a little further, my hand gets in the way, down a little further you could see another little clip poking through the fender. Okay looking at my new light, it has this right here and it has a couple little wings on it. These squeeze actually pretty easy. So what you want to do is reach down in there, kind of give these and squeeze while you pull out.
Okay so I reach down in. You'll probably squeeze them one at a time. Squeeze the top or the bottom with your fingernail or take a small screwdriver with you. Then it releases and then you can pull the headlight out. Take that off then pull the bulb right out. Then disconnect the harness. Here's the light that was in the truck, new light from 1A Auto. Lights from 1A Auto, they are just like the original. They are going to shine. They're DOT approved. One thing you want to do before you go to put them in, is you see here, this is an adjuster and you can see the length between there and there. On my one - one that was in the truck the length is much shorter here. So I am going to adjust this to match that. I am also going to do the same thing at the top here and with this one here. So I am just going to make the adjusters the new light match the old light. With the one exception being, you can see that the design of this mount is a little different than the original. So that adjuster, I am going to actually measure the distance between the light and the adjuster and make them the same.
Here's my new light. I am going to plug in my bulb and make sure this adjuster goes back into the slot where its supposed to be. See that's going right into that hole and that's going to go right into that hole. Push the bottom in to lock it and the tops are in. Now I am going to put my clip down in carefully. Push back on the light some. Get it started. So this one I am going to use my bent tipped awl just so I don't drop it. Put it down in, get it started, push the light in. Just use my Phillips screwdriver here to try to push these clips all the way down on. Then the lights all set.
Okay to adjust your headlight, this screw here adjusts your light left to right. If you look at the line down here, as I go counter clockwise light goes in, clockwise light goes out. Then the other screw is way down in here, right in here. Counter clockwise light goes down, clockwise light comes up.

I have no real complaint but it took 3 weeks to get here, I don't know why. The installation is not as easy as the video because the tabs on the old lenses were hardened and would not move, other than that it went pretty easy. The right bulb is very dim and I"m not sure why

The assembly was a little harder to install than I thought. Bottom attachment hard to compress. However they were original headlight assemblies. Fit was fine and work fine. I am happy with them.

These headlights went right in and came with new headlamps. Never waste your money on a headlight cleaner when new casings look so much better. I appreciate the how to video! That is something that no one does that will drive my future purchases from 1aauto.com. It would be soooo awesome if you can show a how to video on best practices for aligning the beam properly.

First time using 1A Auto. I am very satisfied with the replacement head lights. Truck looks great and much safer at night. Installation was easy after watching the installation video. Saved bundle compared to buying from Ford. Staff was very helpful while placing order. Will be using 1A Auto next time I need a replacement part for my Super Duty.

The lights are great ! Much better than refinishing them. However, originally I was sent two drivers side lights. On the phone the man verified it was an error in shipping. He said it would ship the next day, but it did not ship until two days later. Which threw it into the 4th of July holiday and took longer leaving me without a headlight. I think it should have been over night delivery since they shipped out the wrong part to begin with.
Great new lights

These new headlights are so much better than the stock ones that came off. My 16 year old headlights were faded and yellowing. These are crystal clear and provide a much better down road view. Watch the how to video and it is not a bad DIY install. Came with bulbs.
Really like these headlights!

If you're tired of not being able to see clearly while driving at night and your headlights are dull and yellowed from age, these headlights are the perfect solution. After installing these, I could actually see everything clearly at night again. They even came with the bulbs as well. Just an FYI for anyone replacing their old headlights in their Super Duty, use a 14mm 12 point boxed end wrench to hold the tabs in to ease removal of your old headlights.
Fits great but plan a few extra minutes to take apart and reinstall

Product is great so far and arrived about a week after ordering, which was not an issue for me.
The video techniques were awesome but on my 2004 F-350 6.0l diesel there was not as much room as in the video and I could not pinch the black lower plastic clips so I had to use some mini vice grips to get the lower portion out. It added about 20 minutes for each light as it was very tight and a difficult process. Everything else was smooth as silk and dead on from the video.
Well worth the time and effort and the price is right with new light bulbs included.
PS on my sons car 2 years ago we installed new lights from 1A and they are working perfectly.
Great value

My F250 had badly discolored stock headlight. A few clicks of the mouse and 1a had the replacements at my door. An hour later truck looks so much better and vision at night is greatly improved. Thanks 1a auto. A+ on this deal.

My truck was in very good shape except for the yellowing headlights. Installed these & she looks new again. Make sure to buy a 90 degree pick tool if you're going to replace these yourself. I also had to buy a couple new clips from local auto parts store as I bent 2 of them getting them off. No big deal, actually the new clips are a much better design than the originals. Hope this helps.

I purchased this product a year and a half ago. Its the best solution I found to dim headlights. They aren't HID, but they work great and help a lot over the factory headlights. I recently had one of them break on me. I contacted 1A Auto and told them what happened. They immediately sent out a replacement without asking any further questions! by fare the best customer service I have ever received!

The headlights were easy to install after watching the attached video. Other responders are correct, the first light took about 30 minutes and the second about 10 minutes. The difference in appearance and clarity is amazing. I assigned 4 stars due to condensation in one of the headlights less than one week after installing. However, when I contacted 1aauto, they offered suggestions and if no improvement in 2 weeks time they have offered to send out a replacement light.

I needed to replace my headlights on my 2001 Ford Excursion. The original lights had yellowed to the point of not being bright enough to pass inspection. The set I bought from 1A Auto were a perfect fit. Are beautiful and make the truck look new again and were very reasonably priced. On top of all of that, they came with new bulbs too! How can you beat that? The "how to" video was easy to follow and simple to do. I love this website and how easy they make it to find the right parts and do it yourself saving you a lot of money!
A great replacement

These headlights made the entire front of the pickup look newer. They were an exact fit but you will have to have the headlights aligned for the best results. You may be able to get them somewhat aligned on your own but having them aligned with the proper equipment serve you a lot better.

I needed to replace some headlights on my 2000 Ford F250. They had gotten "yellow" from age and hard to see at night. I also had a broken tail light. I found a "how to" page on U-tube to install the lights and there was A-1's address right next to it. The directions were done so well I thought maybe the Company would be efficient too. And...they are. Couldn't be more pleased with the lights and quick service. All paper work, tracking, and follow up was top notch. Will certainly buy from them again. : )

October 20, 2020
I installed the headlights without significant difficulty. Removing the old adjusters was the most difficult part of the installation. The new headlights provide a much better and brighter field of view and the make the truck appear newer. They fit well in place of the old headlights. They were a good purchase in many ways.

December 10, 2020
I ordered these as a replacement to my stock F250 headlights for a projector retrofit project since my stock housings had a ribbed lens. These are great as you only need to replace the main headlight rather than the entire assembly. The lens is clear which should work for my retrofit. The stock lighting out of the box is lackluster though and are personally not any brighter than the stock headlamps. Overall, not bad for the price if you're planning on retrofitting.
Great product! But removal and installation more difficult than expected.

Excellent product! Makes my truck look new and I can see so much better now. Only downside was how difficult it was to remove the old headlight assemblies. The videos were super helpful. You definitely need the right tools as shown in the videos.

Good build quality, very similar to OEM headlights. Fitment matched OEM headlights. I would recommend these headlights.
Tough to install

Been in the plastics industry over 35 years. The plastic clips were most likely copied and duplicated from originals, the issue being the factory accounted for shrinkage, these did not. Impossible to get the clips in grooves as they do not protrude from the opening with the flat washer section part fully seated.
My only (time consuming) option was to unscrew the old original plastic adjusters(2 each lamp) and swap onto new lenses, this allowed the clips to be installed. the main larger adjusted is a pain to get out and i did not want to destroy it to find and issues with the new part, so guess what..left those in place.
I now have them installed with all the old hardware and they look great, I did not even dream I would have to go thru what I had to install, but as I had started the swap, there was no turning back, I wanted the foggy ones changed out.
Perfect fit, consider dropping/loosening the bumper for install

Perfect fit on my '03 Excursion.
I had to drop my bumper a bit to access the mounting screws, which added to the the difficulty as these are "old bolts"...

I think it does. The headlights are decent for the price. I have, however, had to replace them twice because the plastic piece that directs light comes out of track because of vibration while driving. Problem is the glass is sealed so there’s no way to fix. 1Aauto has replaced them both times free of charge and no shipping costs. So they have exceptional customer service which seems to be getting hard to find these days.
