Even if your good with repairs the parts STILL could be faulty!!!!

Just got the vehicle out of Subaru Service call. Battery was draining and the passenger side mirror started discoloring. After a week in the shop they determined the OEM mirror I purchased from 1A Auto had a short that caused the mirror system to overheat and discolor the mirror on the passenger side of the vehicle. They replaced the mirror assembly and the new glass on the passenger side and it seems to fix the problem. I wanted the old mirror assembly to send back to 1A auto but they threw it away once they found that it was causing the battery to drain and the discoloring of the mirror on the passenger side. Just be sure you are testing the connections for continuity before plugging the assembly into the sleeves. Thought I'd save $500 ordering the part and doing it myself because it seemed easy enough to DIY but ended up spending double for the repair and they said it could have been worse as it would have damaged the entire electrical system. A relatively easy fix could go
