Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the taillight as well as replace the entire assembly on this 2009 Nissan Titan. We show you on the passenger side, but the driver side is a similar procedure. The items you'll need for this include new tail lights from 1AAuto.com, a 10mm socket and ratchet, and a pair of pliers.
Start it off by removing these two 10mm bolts right here, and we'll just fast-forward as Don does this. If you're just looking to service your bulbs, just pull the tail light out, and the socket is twisted out counterclockwise. Pull the bulb out, push your new one in, and twist the socket back in clockwise to lock it. These two are exactly the same so you can twist them out. Pull the bulb free. Push your new one in and twist it back into place.
If you're looking to replace the entire tail light assembly, just come down here underneath your truck. Pull the harness free from the truck, then push the tab, and disconnect it. Then put the harness up and over here, and then just pull the tail light assembly out. Pull this gasket free, and then pull the harness up and out.
On the left is the old taillight; on the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical, and they're going to mount exactly the same. If your new tail light comes with clips, just remove these old ones using a pair of pliers. Then, feed the harness of your new light back down into the truck, and push that gasket back into place. Now, push your taillight back into place making sure that those clips on the side line up, and then just hit them into place. We'll fast-forward as Don replaces those two 10mm bolts. Now, put the harness back up and over here, reconnect it, and then re-clip it to the truck. You're all set.
