Front motor mount for Nissan Maxima

The mount fit in the stock location without any modifications to the mount. The only thing I had to do was splice in the old connector from the old mount and put it on the new mount. My connection was different then what came on the new mount.

The actual mount fit a 2002 Maxima GLE and was an easy install, however the electronic connection had a keyway that was off just enough to ensure that it would never fit the stock engine side. I ended up splicing the original connection end to the new part, and it's working as expected. Such is the risk of non-OEM parts. It's got just a little more vibration at idle than stock, but it's solid at speed. Whether 20 minutes of splicing, heat shrink tubing, and taping is worth the savings over an OEM part is up to you.

Does a 1997 Nissan Maxima 5 spd manual have anything other then engine mounts holding up the transmission and engine?

The engine and transmission are attached to the vehicle's frame and crossmember by 4 mounts. While those are the only items physically holding the powertrain in place, wiring, hoses, and front axles will also connect various parts together.
