I did the key relearn procedure and it started ok but having trouble with remote start Sometimes it will remote start the next time security light will come on and it wont start I found that I do not have to do relearn procedure I just need to wait the ten minutes and it will start ( using key not remote) the remote start is Viper 160XV

This is an excellent "cheap" replacement part. The installation video was easy to follow and changing it was a breeze. The only downside to me is I have to carry the old key for doors and truck operation. I do use keyless entry but if the battery is dead you still have to manually open the door to open the hood for a jump. I've had 0 issues with this part and the security light is off. Most importantly, it starts every time I need it to. I will definitely buy from 1A auto again.

This worked just great tired of waiting for the recall schedule to fit into ours. Only thing to remember is you will now have 2 keys. I marked this I with paint stick and put 2 grooves in plastic so you wouldn't mistake the keys. Great product.

Thank you. Your installation cedi on YouTube was very helpful. Because of the cedi, i was able to replace the ignition switch in about 5 minuts. After instillation, I needed to contact you by phone to find out why the engine would not start. Your rep explained that the new unit needed to be programmed with the car. An instruction was emailed to me, and I was able to program the unit with the car. My only comment is maybe you should ship that program instruction with the new part.

Did some extensive research online and found that the issue to both my A/C and cruise control was my ignition switch and cylinder. My cyclinder was also starting to go out (I could pull the key out in the on position). Took my dash most of the way apart and plugged this new cylinder in there. Works like a charm. I finally have A/C and cruise control again!

Ignition key set worked great. It comes with a set of instructions that were 100 percent accurate and easy to follow. Competitive prices. There are others out there that are cheaper, but the customer service that you get too, is worth a few extra bucks. I recommend this company to anyone. They have great "How to" videos on YouTube.

I own a Chevy Malibu 2003, my dealership wanted $730 to fix my anti theft system problem in which my car would not start at times and I would have to do the relearn process (15 mins) to bypass it over and over again. I took the Cylinder Lock out myself (easiest job ever) and replaced it myself. Once installed, I did the relearn process once because it is a new key. I have had no problems since, all for under $60 and a hour of my time.

It took a lot of effort to get the old key to go in all the way and finally turn, but once I was able to do that, the rest was a cake walk. It works great too !! I would definitely recommend this product for other folks that have to replace their ignition switch!!

NOTE: On many GM vehicles, the relearn process is as follows: Insert the key and turn to the ON position Attempt to start the car; it will fail at this point. Release key and leave in ON position After 10 minutes in the ON position, the SECURITY light should turn off. Turn key to OFF and wait 5 seconds Programming complete

Yes, I did it really bother with the cylinder pins to make it match ur previous key... Once I switched the cylinder, I basically kept two keys on my cars keyring. The old kiey for the doors and trunk, and the new key that came with purchase for the ignition

Depending on the application. Most GM models have a standard procedure for reprogramming on the website with the item listed on how to do this. We suggest you verify with the dealer and your particular model to confirm this procedure will work for you.

No, I installed the cylinder following the instructions and started right away without scan or other tools. The keys would not work on your car's door but other than that this is the cheapest and best way to go. In my opinion!

The anti theft system will learn that pass key. Normally once installed You need to turn the key on to the on position and leave it on about 10 minutes or until the security light goes out. Then turn the key of then start the car

If you need a new cylinder, you don't necessarily have to get a new switch. The key that comes with the new cylinder will fit the new cylinder, but you'll still need your old key for doors. Not sure what you mean about "scan."
